STRATEGY · RESEARCH · GOVERNANCE
The deliverable depends on the problem.
The work begins with evidence.
Violet Compass helps organizations understand where direction, decisions, and lived reality have diverged—then turns that evidence into plans, findings, and frameworks they can actually use.
WHAT WE DO
Four areas of work.
Often one engagement.
Strategy, research, governance and measurement rarely stay in separate lanes inside a real organization. A formal project may draw from all four. A focused engagement may concentrate on one.
The scope is built around the question the organization needs answered—not around forcing the work into a predetermined package.
-
For organizations that need a new direction—or need to understand why an existing strategy is no longer guiding the work.
This can include:
Strategic plans and implementation frameworks
Environmental scans and organizational reviews
Stakeholder engagement and priority-setting
Implementation ownership, measures and review points
Board, executive and community presentations
The result is not simply a set of priorities. It is a plan connected to the decisions, responsibilities and operating conditions required to carry it.
-
For organizations that need credible evidence before making a decision, designing a program or setting a priority.
This can include:
Needs assessments
Environmental scans and literature reviews
Interviews, surveys, focus groups and community conversations
Stakeholder and community-engagement design
Qualitative and quantitative analysis
Findings, recommendations and research reports
The work is designed to reach beyond the people already closest to leadership. Who is missing from the usual channels matters as much as who is already in the room.
-
For organizations where information, accountability or decision-making is no longer moving as clearly as it should.
This can include:
Governance and organizational-effectiveness reviews
Decision-rights and accountability analysis
Board and leadership information-flow reviews
Strategic-alignment assessments
Risk-monitoring and escalation recommendations
Facilitated findings and governance conversations
The purpose is not to make governance heavier. It is to help the organization notice important patterns earlier and respond with greater clarity.
-
For organizations that need to know whether a strategy, program or commitment is producing the result it was intended to produce.
This can include:
Measurement and evaluation frameworks
Performance measures and strategic indicators
KPI and reporting reviews
Implementation dashboards
Progress-review structures
Data-informed decision frameworks
Good measurement does more than report activity. It helps leadership understand what is changing, what is not and where a different decision may be required.
HOW THE WORK BEGINS
You may know the project.
Or you may only know something is off.
You Need a 360° View of the Organization
Sometimes the deliverable is not yet clear.
Leadership may know the strategy isn't landing, decisions are becoming reactive, important information isn't travelling upward, or different parts of the organization are describing very different realities.
A 360° Organizational Review examines the organization from multiple positions—not just the executive table. Depending on the situation, that can include document and data review, board and leadership interviews, employee and stakeholder engagement, and analysis across strategy, governance, information flow, implementation and measurement.
The result is a clear account of what is happening, where the underlying gaps sit, and what should happen next.
This is an organizational review—not an individual employee-performance assessment.
You Have a Defined Project or Formal RFP
You may already know the required deliverable: a strategic plan, needs assessment, governance review, research report or evaluation framework.
Violet Compass scopes the engagement against the full set of requirements. That often means combining strategy, research, stakeholder engagement, governance analysis and measurement within one project—not treating them as disconnected services.
Representation and lived experience change what an organization can see.
That understanding shapes the work from the beginning. Every engagement considers representation, access, and the gap between leadership intent and lived experience.
When needed, the full Equity Lens Assessment can provide a deeper, scored examination.
A low starting point is information—not an indictment. The goal is to identify structural patterns clearly enough to act.
START WHERE YOU ARE
You don’t need to diagnose the problem before we talk.
If something feels off—or you have a defined project and need the right methodology—we can begin with what you already know.
The free fit call is a conversation about the situation, where the underlying question may sit and whether Violet Compass is the right fit to help.
